The emergence of avian flu is making this both a more pressing and a more puzzling matter for us. Many are finding that they are no longer sure of how to support birds across the different seasons and in ways that are safe for birds and gardeners both. Climate change and extreme weather events, of course, complicate things further.
Bio: Ann Nightingale is well-known in the Victoria area for being an advocate for birds and the people who enjoy them. She is an active volunteer with Rocky Point Bird Observatory and Nature Victoria and has coordinated the Victoria Christmas Bird Count for more than 20 years. Ann likes talking about birds almost as much as she likes the birds themselves. Join us for a slide-illustrated talk on birds you might find in your own gardens and neighbourhoods and what you can do to support them.
