Esquimalt Tree Planting Ceremony
On Thursday November 18th, 2021, Esquimalt Mayor Barb Desjardins helped us plant a Robinia pseudoaciaca tree near the site of the new community building in Esquimalt Gorge Park.
The tree was graciously donated by the (now-defunct) Esquimalt Garden Club in honour of our Centenary.
Helping with the planting were Eric Wilde (arborist), Mike McHugh (VHS President), Rick Daykin (Parks Manager), Maureen Adams (VHS centenary Committee Chair) and Lynne Ewing (a past VHS President).
Although it was a rather miserable afternoon, weather-wise, the brave few who ventured out still managed to enjoy themselves!
