Bumble Bees of British Columbia: Big, Bumbly and Beleaguered
A short introduction to bumble bees, the bumble bees of British Columbia, and specifically some common bumblers of Vancouver Island. Some species are at risk and are listed under the federal Species at Risk Act. Syd Cannings will talk about the declines of these species and the probable causes of the declines, and what we can do to change things. Many of you may participate in bird monitoring programs, and naturalists can help monitor the status of bees as well.
You can register on the VNHS Calendar of events: http://www.vicnhs.bc.ca/?page_id=1518
Join us by Zoom for our AGM on Tuesday November 10th, at 7pm
(Please note that is not our usual meeting day)
The Speaker for the evening will be Toni Gattone, author of "The Lifelong Gardener, Garden with Ease and Joy at Any Age". The title of her presentation is "You can garden for life!".
